Welcome to JoySeaLife. I’m Joyce, when I was a young child everyone called me Joycee, hence the name of our boat Joy Sea. I think men name boats after wives just to appease us. That being said, I really do love the boat and my husband too. Gary is the captain and I’m first mate.
Joy Sea is a 42′ CHB Trawler that was built in 1980. She was a Coast Guard Support Vessel for the 1984 LA Olympic Games. We’ve had the Joy Sea since 2013, and have been on many voyages out to the Channel Islands. Gary eats, drinks, and sleeps fishing, so I’ve decided to write about the adventures of the Joy Sea (fishing, camping, boat maintenance and the party life). We love life at the ocean and I hope you do too.
