About Joy Sea

When I was little, I thought my name was Joycee.  It wasn’t until I was five that a neighbor boy told me my name was Joyce.

I think most men name their boat after their wife to make her happy.   Thus the name of our boat, Joy Sea.

I grew up with a father that loved to fish.  When I was under nine it was mostly fresh water fishing for trout.  Our first outing would be the opening day of fishing early in the Spring.  Between 10 and 15 years old we ocean fished in Oregon.  It was a three week vacation that my parents referred to as “our food storage trip.”  Those were the days of no limits on rockfish and we would freeze it and pack it to last the year.

We’ve had the Joy Sea since 2010.  Gary’s added a lot of fishing equipment to the boat and made modifications to take the boat from a comfortable cruising boat a great fishing boat.  We love the ocean, the Channel Islands, cooking great food and having parties on the boat.  2016 is going to be the best year ever.  Subscribe and like my Facebook page.
